Ari Lennox Style Steal

I have been in love with Ari Lennox ever since I stumbled upon her debut EP entitled Pho back in 2016. She’s gorgeous, her voice is beautiful, and her music actually has meaning that I can relate to. Since I’ve had her new album on repeat, I want to give her her flowers with a style steal.

I understand her frustrations with the criticism that comes with fame and the issues in music industry, but I’m hoping and praying she does not retire any time soon. She is just way too talented. In fact, Ari is the first female artist to be signed to J. Coles label Dreamville, and that speaks volumes. She’s always been sort of slept on, but I’m definitely rooting for sis!

Although most of her looks that I love are much too intricate and fancy for me, I did find a few I was able to recreate:

I definitely had to incorporate a faux fur look, because sis will rock a fur piece in a heartbeat. I’m still not quite ready for crop tops after baby just yet, so I opted for this tan one piece I found on poshmark and paired it with my fur coat I thrifted forever ago to complete a monochromatic look similar to hers. It’s giving luxury!

I also paid homage to her Pho album cover with one of my looks. So simple, so classic, so timeless. I’d wear this look anytime. You can’t see her bottom half on the album cover, but you can pair it with just about anything. I decided to keep it simple with some biker shorts since they are my go to right now. My jacket is a thrifted DIY project I started and never finished. I have so much hair I didn’t bother adding the choker, and my top is my favorite halter that I thrifted years ago. I ended up wearing this look that same day playing outside with the girls.

I’ve had this crushed velvet dress  for a while, but only wore it once. I got it from Ross for very cheap, but it was just not flattering on my figure. I rarely ever get rid of clothes, so it’s just been sitting in my closet waiting for me to wear it again (I know I’ve got to do better). I decided to give a style hack I’ve been seeing on social media a try to see if it would help the shape, and it turned out pretty cute. This look is simple but chic. I’ll probably be wearing this dress for a date night or something of that nature once I tone up my stomach a bit and find some shoes to wear with it.

I did one of her throwback looks just because it’s almost exactly how I use to dress as well. My shorts are actually a pair of maternity shorts, hence why they have no belt loops, that I got from poshmark. Then I added a thrifted turtle neck and heels, and I finished the look with some printed tights I got from Ross. I swear I probably wore this exact look (with regular denim, not maternity) at some point before. Oh the memories of college Ke. Lol

Lastly, I wore a printed off the shoulder top and skirt set I got from Ross a few years ago. Once I got my body semi toned I got pregnant again, so it’s just been sitting in my closet waiting on me to get in shape again. I’m not mad at it on my current body figure though. I actually wish I would’ve rocked this look over the summer, but we’ll try again next year. I added one of the girls headbands to complete the look. All I need now is to be on somebodies beach with a margarita in my hand.

I hadn’t done a whole style steal lookbook in a while. After having my second daughter my body confidence was at an all time low. I really enjoyed recreating some of my girl Ari’s looks, and I actually look pretty damn good if I do say so myself!
