I cannot believe it’s already been an entire year. The baby of the crew is now 1. I’m not crying, you are! It was only right that for baby girls first year around the sun we took a trip around the sun.
This was my girls and my first plane ride ever (cross that off the bucket list). We went to Houston, Texas (another state to cross of the list). Just call us H-town hotties now; literally too because it was hot af there, whew! The heat is something different down there man. By afternoon secret was telling it all. But anywho… we chose to travel to Houston since we did the first trip around the sun/space theme we thought it was fitting.
We had initially planned to go to sesame place in Philly, but then the whole racist incident deterred us from that plan. I don’t even mind though, because we did so many fun things while in Houston. When I purchased our plane tickets, I also got a city attraction pass; so we got to enjoy the zoo, aquarium, Kemah boardwalk, and the children’s museum. We could’ve went to the space center too, which would’ve been fitting for her theme, but we opted out of that since we already had so many other things going on. We also heard we had to check out the Post while there for the culture and the downtown views, so we stopped there too. We even decided to take a little road trip to the beach and check out a trampoline park while there too. We had 5 days in Texas, so we had to make the most of it.
We got to see all kinds of animals both land and sea, enjoy the ocean, ride plenty of rides, and eat lots of good food. I got some restaurant ideas from RollitupK on YouTube, tiktok and Google of course. Most of the places were delicious, but my favorite was the Breakfast Klub. Although the line was wrapped around the building, it was well worth the wait. We also had authentic birria tacos from Black Market Birria that were everything I thought they would be and more. I’m pretty sure I gained at least 10lbs this trip. How is my baby 1, but my belly looks 5 months pregnant? Sheesh!
This vacation was definitely needed. I’m so glad Jae and I get to take the girls on vacations. Even though it’s not as often as I want to yet, we are still taking trips and making memories around the world. That has always been a goal of mine since I never went on vacations as a child. I know both girls enjoyed Texas just as much as I did. It almost seemed like it was my oldest birthday too. Now to get back into the swing of things at home unfortunately. I’m ready for another vacation already.
Houston, we have a one year old!! Happy 1st Birthday Jreyah!! I hope you enjoyed your birthday trip to Texas, as well as your first trip around the sun. I know it all flew by for me.
